Those Were The Days

Back in the Fritz Freling/Bob Clampett days when Daffy was funny and crazy. Back before Chuck Jones ruined him forever, giving him that arrogant greedy personality. You know, everyone hails Chuck Jones as being the savior of Warner Bros cartoons and I think he was the worst of the bunch. He couldn’t hold a candle to Tex Avery, or Freeling, or Clampett. I actually met Bob Clampett after he retired. I was at an entertainment convention in the 70’s and he had a booth set up, drawing pictures of Beany and Cecil - yeah he did those too. Strange dude. But then all the great cartoonists were…anyway, the old Daffy is my hero..so enjoy…

LOL!! When Daffy started licking his face I thought I would wet myself laughing. I’ve never seen that one before and I’m a BIG cartoon fan (Dave catches me watching them and laughs at me). I just knew you were going to show the one of Daffy and Porky in the haunted house but was happy to catch a new/old one
lol… i LOVE WB cartoons hehe. Daffy was one of my all time favorites too. It’s DISPICABLE, but funny
oh man, you just made my saturday morning! i miss watching looney tunes on saturday mornings!
All: I hear ya. Daffy rules..and kids today don’t know what they are missing with the $%&* that’s on Saturday mornings these days. Of course all the old WB cartoons were made for adults anyway as opposed to the bland pap generated now…
Foghorn Leghorn was my absolute favorite back in the day when a cartoon was a cartoon.
Thanks for the laugh!
