mm – i think i’ve been kicked out of the club…but what the hell

the music industry expected The Daughter of Court & Spark with The Hissing of Summer Lawns.  The buying public loved it; the music press,  particularly Rolling Stone, hung Mitchell out to dry with furiously scathing reviews.  Fortunately, Joni Mitchell, who has never veered from her own artistic vision, followed up with, arguably, her best work Hejira, an album born out of cross-country trip the singer made from east to west.

This, in my opinion, is the best track on the album, although Hejira is one of those rare works that has heart and texture from start to finish.
