While Diane is on hiatus, Amanda is taking the helm for musical monday.
Canadian Sass Jordan wails somewhere between Janis Joplin and Genya Ravan. While largely, and foolishly, ignored in the US, she continues to produce songs of heart and soul. The darkest of her collections is entitled Rats, most of which deals with the relationship she had at the time with a heroin addicted lover. From that album, “High Road Easy” did get substantial US airplay and while it’s a great song, there are several others that have…well…real balls to them. This is one of them. I had the Rats CD in the car this week, cranking up this song to blow the speakers out. I still get chills every time I listen to it….(this, unfortunately, is a commercial airplay edit version of the song, but it will suffice)
