a nice piece for the times…

Keith Emerson defined progressive keyboard playing in the 1970’s.  I remember seeing Emerson, Lake and Palmer at Madison Square Garden during the Works tour with full orchestra accompaniment.  After playing the first and third movement of his piano concerto, Emerson received a 15 minute standing ovation.  The entire arena just kept clapping, the energy was infectious.

As a musician and composer, Emerson has left quite a legacy.  No he’s not dead, thankfully, but I just tripped over this piece on YouTube and I think it fits quite nicely with the mood of the world.

  1. “Oooh what a lucky man … he was.”

And with that, I’ve given you an award. Yes, you! Another snazzy piece of artwork for your right side roll :).
